For many years now I have felt like a vacuum in my life. I have loving friends, family, and an adorable dog but still, there is some unhappiness inside me. Recently, I read many articles, quotes, and books to understand the feelings that I have been through.

I was surprised to discover that most of the young adults are feeling the way I do. That is, ‘Lost and no direction’. Then I started reading more to know how I can help myself and people like me.

By ‘People like me’, I mean the ones who overthink to the extent of sleepless nights, who have numerous amount of mood swings, and who have no clue where their life is taking them. You feel as if your life has paused.

So, here are a few things I changed in the way I live life and see it, which might be able to help you too.

  1. Take one day at a time — I know it's easier said than done, but taking a day at a time helps. Try to make a schedule or to-do list for your next day. It's not important to follow it to the ‘T’ but at least you’ll know your agendas for the coming day.
  2. Read a book — The best way to distract yourself from overthinking is to take a book and read. It stops your mind from going out on midnight ventures!
  3. Listen to instrumental
